Abstract

Deep transformations occurred during the last decades demand different responses to ride out new problems and challenges. In this way, it is necessary to emphasize the role played by three determining factors: innovation, networks and the rational use of resources. In this general context, this paper attempts to take part in social and scientific scene's main theoretical debates, focusing on the influence that these factors exert to create intelligent territories, the ones that are able to support the improvement of citizens' welfare.
