Abstract

Trying to set in perspective the changes in the discipline throughout the last decades, this text aims at overhauling the article Í€œConceptual considerations about urban planningÍ€ (Almandoz, 1993). Marked by Henri LefebvreÍ€™s conceptions, the original article departed from inquiring into the unavoidable difficulties of urbanism Í€“diverse and complex objects of study, alongside an interdisciplinary nature in the making, approachable from different perspectivesÍ€“, all of which have complicated the development of a discipline as young as heterodox. Thenceforth the article addresses the so-called disciplinary moments (theoretical, practical, technical-artistic) to finally lead to a comprehensive definition of the different objects of study and disciplinary moments involved. Based upon that original agenda and structure, partly maintained in these reconsiderations, this article not only tries to set in perspective those objects of study and epistemological characteristics, but also to look over the disciplinary nature of urbanism, considering the changes in context and paradigms throughout the last decades.
